Between panic and palsy: being a physician in pandemic times
On June 18th 2021, Dr. Eva Schaffrath who is an anesthesiologist at Maastricht University Hospital wants to share her personal experiences and impressions looking back at the year of change.
Whilst the pandemic gets into its second year of restricting our lives. It’s worthwhile to look back how everything began, how changes occurred fast and slow, impacted our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
Dr. Eva Schaffrath is an anesthesiologist at de University hospital of Maastricht and wants to share her personal experiences and impressions looking back to the year of change.

We are proud to announce the next workshop within the IWCE workshop series. The IWCE Job Search workshop is about to start.
Experienced Career Coach and Intercultural trainer Heidi Los will host a two-week virtual Job Search workshop starting February 22nd.
Participants will meet on Monday and Friday morning from 9-10:30 (February 22 and 26, March 1 and 5) via TEAMS, link will be provided after signing up for the event.
Are you in need for a job? Do you feel searching for a job is a weary and exhausting process? Do you miss some guidance to keep you going? Are you ready for the next step?
This workshop is relevant for those who already know they want to search for a job and are motivated to start the process. This is also helpful for those who already started but not landed a job yet. Wine tasting
IWCE Wine Tasting- Saturday February 20th at 17:00
An online wine tasting for our members, hosted by Anja Vonderhoff from wijncampus.nl.
As a very experienced vinologist, sommelier and wine teacher Anja will share her knowledge with us. She will give a presentation through Zoom about 4 different wines and also concentrates on the combination of wine with cheese and even chocolate.
You will be able to taste these wines at home and at the same time socialize and chat with other members. By the way, Partners are also welcome to join.
You will receive a Tasting kit that includes 4 small bottles and 3 bites of cheeses and chocolate.
A Tasting kit for 1 person costs €20,- . When you order 2 kits we can offer a discount and you pay €30,- for the 2.
Tasting kit can be picked up 2 days before the event. Details about the pick-up point will be sent to you after registration.
The online event will start at 17:00. Presentation about the wines will last about 60 minutes and there will be a fun Kahoot Quiz at the end.

Creative writing
An opportunity to connect online, learn writing techniques, and express your creativity.
Published author and IWCE member Meagan Macvie will host a one-week virtual Creative Writing Workshop starting February 1. Workshop participants will meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Feb 1, 3, and 5) from noon to 13:30 via Zoom. This is a special trial class, so spots are limited to six participants. Interested? Email meaganmac@gmail.com to RSVP. The first six members to send an RSVP email will be enrolled and receive a confirmation email.
